Shri A. Prashant Acharya has been at the forefront of educational and community service in Alevoor for several decades. As the Secretary of the Alevoor Education Society (Regd.), he has played a pivotal role in guiding the growth and transformation of the local institutions under its care. His leadership was instrumental in the evolution of Nehru English Medium School into Alevoor Poornaprajna Public School, a milestone that marked a new era of academic excellence and holistic development for the children of Alevoor and the surrounding region. Actively involved in the administration of the school, Mr. Acharya participates in all its academic, cultural, and extracurricular activities. He is deeply committed to nurturing an environment of discipline, creativity, and growth, and is known for his vision to develop the school into a model institution that upholds strong values while embracing modern educational practices. His hands-on approach and constant encouragement have inspired teachers, students, and parents alike. Beyond his educational contributions, Mr. Acharya has served as a Panchayat member for over 15 years, where he has worked tirelessly to address community needs and foster local development. He also holds the position of Secretary of the Nehru High School Old Students’ Association, furthering connections between alumni and the institution. His involvement extends to cultural and social organizations, having served as the President of Shri Vishnu Seva Balaga, Moodu Alevoor, a group active in preserving local traditions, and currently guiding the same as its Advisor. On a personal note, he was born on 27 May 1963 and continues to remain closely rooted to his village life and traditions. Dr. Anantha Padmanabha Bhat is a distinguished academician and former Principal of Poornaprajna College, Udupi. With over three decades of dedicated service in higher education, Dr. Bhat has exemplified excellence in teaching, research, and academic leadership. A postgraduate in Physics from the University of Mysore, he earned his M.Phil and Ph.D. from Mangalore University, specializing in nonlinear optical crystals. He joined Poornaprajna College in 1985 and rose to become Head of the Department of Physics and later Principal. He established a Crystal Growth and Laser Research Lab to promote undergraduate research and guided numerous UGC-funded projects. An acclaimed science communicator, Dr. Bhat founded the Poornaprajna Amateur Astronomers’ Association and led over 400 sky-watching programs across Karnataka, earning admiration for his ability to make science accessible and engaging. In 2024, he was appointed Honorary Secretary of the Udupi Sri Admar Mutt Education Council, Bengaluru, under the leadership of H.H. Sri Eeshapriya Teertha Swamiji. Dr. P. Sreeramana Aithal is a celebrated academic leader with over three decades of distinguished service in teaching, research, and administration. Currently serving as Director of the Poornaprajna Institute of Management, Udupi, he also oversees institutional development as the Director (Development) of the Poornaprajna Group of Institutions. Dr. Aithal was the Founding Vice Chancellor of Srinivas University, Mangalore, where he spearheaded the establishment of the university's academic and research framework (Psait Hal). He holds multiple advanced degrees—spanning Physics, E Business, Information Technology, and Business Management—including two Ph.D.s, one in Physics and another in Business Management. An esteemed researcher, Dr. Aithal has authored over 700 publications in areas such as nonlinear optics, nanotechnology, e business, and higher education. His prolific output has earned him global recognition, ranking among the top authors in Elsevier’s SSRN network. His pioneering innovations include novel crystal-growth methods and impactful pedagogical models. Dr. Sureshramana Mayya is an accomplished academician with over 40 years of experience in teaching and research. He began his career as Associate Professor of Commerce at MGM College, Udupi, and later served as Director of PG Programmes at Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal. He also held the position of Dean, Faculty of Management, at Poornaprajna Institute of Management, Udupi, until June 2020. Presently, he is a Research Professor in the Department of Research, College of Commerce and Management, Srinivas University, where he guides ten Ph.D. scholars. Dr. Mayya holds M.Com, M.Phil (with distinction), Ph.D. from Mangalore University, an MBA, and postgraduate diplomas in Higher Education and Marketing. He has guided over 25 M.Phil candidates and 13 Ph.D. scholars and served as a recognized guide at Manipal, Bharathiyar, and Dravidian Universities. He has over 95 publications and completed five major research projects funded by agencies such as UGC, ICSSR, ICAI, and DSIR. He is also serving as NAAC Assessor. He has presented research globally, including in Bangkok, Melbourne, Japan, and Dubai. Passionate about technology-integrated learning, his current interests include digital pedagogy, blended learning, and student-centered course design. Nagaraja Tantry, born on 17th September 1960 in Udupi, Karnataka, is a distinguished banking professional and community leader with over four decades of experience across financial institutions and public service. He currently resides in Kunjibettu, Udupi, and is actively involved in social, educational, and spiritual endeavors. He completed his early education in Udupi and went on to earn a Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) from PPC College, Udupi, followed by a Bachelor of Law (LLB) from Udupi Law College. His academic foundation laid the groundwork for a highly disciplined and structured career in finance and administration. Mr. Tantry began his professional journey with the State Bank of India (SBI) in 1980. Over the course of nearly 39 years, he served in various capacities and rose through the ranks to retire as Chief Manager in March 2019. His tenure at SBI was marked by dedication, operational excellence, and a deep understanding of India’s evolving banking landscape. Following his retirement from SBI, he joined the Kuwait India International Exchange Company as Assistant General Manager (Treasury) from 2019 to 2022. In this role, he contributed significantly to treasury management, foreign exchange operations, and Indo-Kuwaiti financial cooperation. Mr. Tantry is currently serving as the Estate Manager for both the Adamaru Matha Education Council and Sri Adamaru Matha, Udupi. In this key position, he oversees the estate and institutional assets of the Matha, supporting its mission in educational development and spiritual guidance. Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Tantry has been deeply engaged in community service. He served as the President of the Rotary Club, Manipal during 2010–2011, leading numerous initiatives in health, education, and social welfare. He also held the position of President of Yuva Brahmana Parishat, Udupi from 2012 to 2014, focusing on youth development and community empowerment. He was deeply involved in the planning and execution of runway expansion, land acquisition, terminal and infrastructure development, and the implementation of advanced safety and operational systems—efforts that significantly contributed to the airports attaining international standards. Professor Vyasa Upadhyaya is an MSc from IIT-Bombay and a Doctorate from Mangaluru University. He has been associated with MAHE-Manipal for more than 3 decades. Before his superannuation from MAHE (about 7 years ago), he served as the Head of the Department of Physics at Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal, for a three-year term. Alongside teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, he also mentored research scholars towards their PhD, and has consistently encouraged a culture of inquiry, experimentation, and scientific thinking. In addition to his academic responsibilities, Prof. Upadhyaya has played visible leadership roles in departmental and national-level academic events. He served as the Chairman for multiple editions of the National Conference on Condensed Matter Physics and Applications (CMPA) hosted at MIT Manipal (including the 2016, 2017 and 2018 editions), contributing to a platform where researchers and students could interact with experts and present emerging work in materials and condensed matter physics. conference.manipal.edu His research contributions span topics commonly grouped under condensed matter and materials physics—particularly optical/structural studies of functional materials, spectroscopy, luminescent materials and related applications. A Diploma holder in Civil Engineering, he is the driving force behind several successful ventures, including Vishwa Cement Products, Vishwa Industries, Alevoor Cobble Pavers, and Vishwa Developers—specializing in manufacturing interlock blocks, kerb stones, and developing residential layouts. Elected as President of the Alevoor Gram Panchayat in August 2023 with the support of the Congress party, he has been actively working to improve local infrastructure, promote healthcare, and preserve cultural heritage. His notable initiatives include organizing a free health camp at Subodhini Higher Primary School in collaboration with Adarsha Group of Institutions, offering diabetes screenings, ECGs, eye check-ups, and free medicines to residents. A strong advocate for community bonding, he supports traditional events like Kesarugadde Ota, which celebrates folk sports and rural culture. Fluent in Hindi, English, and Kannada, Shri Yathish Kumar blends modern development with cultural preservation, fostering unity and sustainable growth in Alevoor. Shrikanth Nayak is a dynamic leader with a proven record of service, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement. A graduate in Arts, he is the owner of Grama One Nagarika Seva Kendra and a successful catering business. He currently serves as the District Secretary of the BJP in Udupi District and also leads various community and cultural organizations, including Sri Vishnu Sneha Balaga in Karval, Alevoor, the Shri Nagaraj Raktheshwari Sannidhana Kambala in Prgathi Nagar, Alevoor, and the Sarvajanik Shri Ganeshotsava Samithi in Mrne, Kanaradi, Kodamgala, Karvalu. He is also a serving member of the Alevoor Grama Panchayath and has previously held positions such as President of the BJP Kaup Constituency Assembly and President of the Alevoor Village Panchayat. During his tenure as President of the Alevoor Gram Panchayat, Shrikanth championed proactive governance and community development. He presided over a workshop on scientific waste disposal, organized in collaboration with the community health department, Manipal Higher Education Academy, and local organizations. Through this initiative, he emphasized the importance of environmentally responsible practices for the health and well-being of the community. Shrikanth’s leadership has delivered tangible results for local residents. He helped 123 slum dwellers secure ownership rights for their homes and facilitated ₹2.5 crore in assistance from the Housing Corporation. His efforts have led to the construction of more than 500 houses for the underprivileged. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he mobilized local youth through the NREGA scheme to restore an unused water source, or Kere, bringing it back into community use. He has also introduced household garbage collection services, installed street lighting in key areas, and adopted a Government School in Alevoor Kaval, ensuring its continued operation with the support of local donors. An active participant in public life since his student days, Shrikanth was associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and is recognized as a dedicated BJP worker. Two years ago, he completed his Initial Training Camps (ITC) with the RSS. He previously served as Principal of SVH PU College, Innanje, and has taught at Kishora Vidya Bhavana, Chintamani, and Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala, Mysore. Holding M.A. degrees in English and History, an M.Phil., and a B.Ed., he has enriched learning environments with his expertise and passion. His research work, “Educational Philosophy of Swami Vivekananda – A Study,” reflects his deep commitment to value-based education. Beyond classrooms, he has served as Academic Counsellor at IGNOU, a paper setter for Karnataka’s Pre-University Education Department and KPSC, and a resource faculty member for teacher training programs across multiple districts. He is also a trained pantomime artist and has conducted motivational talks, career guidance sessions, and personality development programs.
