Introduction

The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of Alevoor Poornaprajna Public School is a collaborative body formed to strengthen cooperation between parents and teachers for the holistic development of students.

PTA Bye-Laws & Rules

The PTA of the school functions in accordance with the Guidelines framed by Alevoor Poornaprajna Public School and CBSE Board for Parent Teacher Association Executive Committee.

Membership

Every parent / guardian of a student admitted to the school is a member of the PTA. The PTA Executive Committee is elected from among the PTA members.

Duties & Functions of PTA Executive Committee

The duties of the PTA Executive Committee include:

  • Ensuring that the academic syllabus is completed as per planning
  • Suggesting remedial measures for academically weak students
  • Assisting the school in planning supplementary academic activities
  • Approving co-curricular and extracurricular activities
  • Receiving information regarding:
    • Educational fees
    • Co-curricular activity fees
    • Submitting opinions through parent representatives

Fee-Related Matters

  • Fee fixation is carried out strictly as per State Government norms under the applicable Fee Regulation Act.
  • The School Management proposes the fee structure before the PTA Executive Committee.
  • Upon approval, a resolution is passed, generally applicable for two academic years.
  • PTA may also consider proposals related to academic development

Composition of PTA Executive Committee

The composition of the PTA Executive Committee shall be as follows:

Joint Secretary (2) One Parent & One Teacher
Members
  • One Teacher from each standard
  • One Parent from each division
  • At least 50% of the members shall be women.
  • The list of PTA Executive Committee members shall be:
    • Published / displayed on the school notice board
    • Uploaded on the school website

Meetings & Procedures

  • PTA Executive Committee meetings shall be held at least once every two months.
  • Advance notice along with agenda shall be issued to all members.
  • Minutes of meetings shall:
    • Be recorded in a register
    • Be preserved as official records
    • Be displayed on the school notice board

Records & Transparency

The following shall be published / displayed on the school notice board/ School Website:

  • PTA Executive Committee member list
  • Meeting notices and minutes
  • Government resolutions and court orders (if any)
  • PTA-related circulars and communications

Nature of PTA

  • PTA is an advisory and participative body
  • It does not interfere in day-to-day administration
  • All actions are taken in the best interest of students and in accordance with:
    • CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws
    • State Government rules
    • School policies

Important Disclaimer

The PTA Bye-Laws of Alevoor Poornaprajna Public School are framed by the School Management in accordance with applicable State Government guidelines. CBSE has not issued separate mandatory PTA bye-laws.
